Will I have higher insurance rates with a red car

I'm thinking about getting a red car, but my parents said that I'd have higher insurance rates. Is this true? I remember hearing somewhere that this wasn't the case...

Contrary to popular belief, red cars do not get higher car insurance premiums than other cars simply for being red. While there are other vehicle factors that determine the cost you pay for car insurance such as type and age, itâ€™s color is not one of them.
