Change of address checklist
Companies and agencies to notify when moving
It's important to immediately update your address with all companies and state/local agencies.
- United States Postal Service
- Driver's License & Vehicle Registration
- Internal Revenue Service
- Utilities (electric, water, internet, etc)
- Banks and loan companies
- Credit card companies
- Department store cards
- Gym
- Insurance Agents
- Physicians / Veterinarian
- Mail subscriptions (magazine, newspaper, etc)
You should send out notifications one or two days before the move, so nothing is sent to your old address during the transition. Not only that, but having vehicle information with an outdated address is illegal.
